CAROLINA YOUTH LACROSSE CLUB

​HIGH SCHOOL

SPRING 2021 LEAGUE INFORMATION
Our High School League is the only of it's kind offered in the Wake Forest  area.   We have athletes participating in the league from all of the surrounding area public and private schools.  The league is played in a full field format, 10 vs 10, and follows all sanctioned state rules.  The High School Division will consist of in house competition and scrimmages within the triangle area.

​Team Size: 18-20 players

Dates: March 2020 - May 2020

Cost:  $250 includes uniform

Practices: Twice per week at MWC Sports Complex, 941 US - 1, Youngsville, NC 27596
​
​Games:  Games are played at various locations in the Triangle Area

Jeff Szczypinski

Jeff hails from Baltimore Maryland where he attended the Boys' Latin School of Maryland. During his stay at Boys' Latin, his teams won 2 State Titles. His senior year, he was awarded 1st Team All American Honors and was selected to play for the U19 USA World Team. After High School he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where his teams won 3 ACC Championships and 1 NCAA Championship in 1991. After college, he played competitive club lacrosse, and still does to this day with the Raleigh Lacrosse Club. After College, Jeff coached at Ravenscroft for about 10 years. He is now the assistant lacrosse coach for Heritage High School. He is also a certified lacrosse official and has been refereeing for about 25 years at all levels from College Club and below. Jeff will be assisting the development of new players and assisting the defense.

Coleman Punte

Coleman hails from Maryland, one of the hotbeds of lacrosse, and has been involved in all aspects of the game since the 6th Grade. He competed in the very competitive Hero's Lacrosse League in Maryland. In 8th Grade, he played for the Ann Arundel County Select team and played against and beat teams from Great Britain. Coleman has been coaching youth Lacrosse for 5 years, producing some strong talent. He is also on of the coaches for the CYLC Frogs. Coleman will be assisting with the offense

Nate Slavik

Nate hails form another hot bed of Lacrosse in Binghamton New York. He played high school lacrosse for Maine-Endwell High School. After High School, Nate played for the University of Rochester. Nate was also the assistant Women's coach for the University of Rochester's DIII Women's Lacrosse team for three years and also assisted the Binghampton's Women's DI Lacrosse team. Nate has also been coaching CYLC youth for a few years now. Nate has been playing competitive lacrosse for over 30 years and continues to play to this day. He is an accomplished attackman and goalie. Nate will assist with the offense and train our goal keepers.

Players

  • Players are ready to practice 10 minutes before start time. Practice time is limited and needed to successfully teach the games component and proper warm up is needed to avoid injury.
  • Protective equipment must be worn at all times to avoid serious injury.  
  • Whenever you are moving the ball around with your stick your protection equipment must be on. 
  • Sportsmanship must be displayed at all times.  No Exceptions.
  • Players will report injuries immediately to the coach or trainer during practices and games. 
  • Players will wear proper game and practice apparel.
  • Players will enjoy time with their new teammates and coaches.

Parents

  • Parents will be the biggest fan of their child.
  • Parents arrive and pick up child at required times.  Please pick up your child within 10 minutes of the conclusion of a game or practice.
  • Parents will support the team and their best effort
  • Parents will support the coaching staff 
  • Parents will contact the coach with any concerns or limitation a player may have (asthma, seizures or any medical condition).
  • Parents will be the biggest asset to our team
